DirecType® 2.1: In the fast lane of personalised direct marketing
Dresden (December 11, 2007). Deutsch Technologies is today unveiling an updated version of its image personalisation software, DirecType®. The new release speeds up the production of personalised print work with an improved method of text analysis and its new slice setting, which is used to save just the variable section of the image. Version 2.1 now enables template images to be edited within DirecType® itself. A new relief function has also been added to the font effects, complementing the existing contour, shadow and shimmer.

Using DirecType®, any image can be personalised and made ready for digital printing. The software thus opens up countless opportunities for targeted, fully personalised, one-to-one marketing. A first impression of the software’s power can be gained from the free version, DirecType® Designer LE, which can be downloaded from www.directype.org. DirecType® Designer provides the full functionality. Other versions of the software enable automated production of personalised images using database-generated text files, plus live, online previews. All of the programmes are also available as Linux and Mac versions.
