Minister of Economics Glos at SDV Winter GmbH
Dresden, 28.11.2006 – Yesterday the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Michael Glos visited SDV Winter GmbH in Weidenberg and praised the medium-sized company for its achievements.
The office of the Minister of Economics had announced a visit to SDV Winter GmbH in Weidenberg completely spontaneously. Under the motto “The sun rises in the East” Minister Glos was presented with a piece of German reunification. Here the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology said: “I am impressed by the success of SDV AG in a reunited Germany.” He quotes Willy Brandt tongue-in-cheek. “Now what belongs together needs to grow together” and continues: “Innovation and growth in Germany come mainly from courageous medium-sized companies.”
Christoph Deutsch, Chairman of the Board at SDV AG, is pleased: “What Rotkäppchen is to sparkling wine, SDV AG is to printing. We are proud to thus contribute our part to reunification.”
Only at the start of 2006 was SDV Winter GmbH in Weidenberg near Bayreuth taken over by SDV AG from Dresden. SDV Winter GmbH has successfully held its own in the difficult economic environment and created additional jobs in the region in this period. The number of employees in Weidenberg thus increased from an initial 74 to 85.
